Shaun of the dead- (This cinema re-release is rated 15 for very strong language and bloody horror.)
The age rating is 15 because it contains very strong language and bloody horror, There are over 30 uses of strong language for example 'f**k' and 'motherf**ker', as well as a single use of very strong language ('c**t').
The film also features several scenes of strong bloody horror, in which people fight off and kill zombies or zombies attack humans. This includes blood spurts as people attempt to kill zombies and sight of a man being torn apart by zombies, with bloody detail. But the gore is often partnered with humour to make it suitable for a 15.
The reason why it is not rated any higher than a 15, is that the film does not really have any sexual scenes or references and because most of the blood violent parts of the film are partnered with humour it takes the seriousness away from it making it a 15 and not an 18.
For our film
We want our film to be rated at 15 because of the fact that it will be targeted to more people and a wider audience will be able to watch it. Also the violence is not actually shown. It states in the guidelines that if the violence is shown directly, e.g. a knife is shown entering the body it cannot be a 15. For our film we will still show some bloody violence but will not show a bullet actually hitting the head of a zombie. It will contain some mild language but not strong intense violence and no sexual references.
